Eggsward the Bold
A game I spent approx 10h on in the last 72, at least 3 of which were learning how to use Aesprite and fiddling with different pixel art ideas.
In the end, the theme "Eggsward the Bold" came to me in an ADHD stim where I was humming humpty dumpty to myself under the shower, making up lyrics to it as I went. And there we go, this is the result.
Things I chose not to work on since 1) I don't like to burn out on these kinds of fun weekend projects, and 2) I wanted to really understand every little thing I was implementing...
- Sound : There's no sound in the game at all. It's currently 2:30am, so if I still have energy, I'll add some. Otherwise, oh well. Better no sound than blaring sound without a settings option.
- Animation ; I wish I could've expanded the animations.
- Level Design : Levels are a bit monotonous both in layout and mechanics. I have logic for Buttons (to trigger effects) and teleporters, but I simply didn't see time to add it.
- UI : Because Unity stock UI works, but is fugly like you wouldn't believe.
This jam was a chance for me to give solo-dev a try, and see what I can put together between distractions, solo work, limited time, and the attention span of a squirrel at a construction site.
Good luck helping Eggsward down to the ground floor!
